A thick aluminum shoe with a 2 degree taper at the heels. Hardened steel wear blank in the toe area. Designed by Ruel Darling and Jay Sharp for the Olympic Jumping team. This shoe has proven over the years to be very versatile. Because the Grand Champion is a large section of aluminum, it is not heat treated. The mass gives it strength under weight.
